Happy Feet and Faces!

We're constantly asking Benjamin to make a "happy face" when we take his pictures and he never really cooperates (which is why he's hardly ever smiling in any picture we take of him, even though he is generally a happy boy). But Benjamin is really good at his "happy feet." This is something he started doing on his own and we started calling it his happy feet dance because it looks like the penguin in the movie Happy Feet. Here's a preview:

Daniel is more than willing to smile for pictures! He is such a happy baby. He is hardly ever not smiling at someone and laughs in his sleep all the time. In fact, he kept me up half the night the other day because he kept laughing out loud in his sleep. I was too lazy/tired to get up and find the camera in the dark, but here are a few pictures of his smiles.

BYU vs UNLV

Ok, last post for today, I promise. I'm all caught up on the things I wanted to blog about so it will probably be a few days before I have something new to post, anyway.

Today we went to the BYU vs UNLV football game. The weather was beautiful! It was warm but not too hot and the sun was shining. Benjamin enjoyed the game- everyone is always so impressed with how well he does at the games. Most toddlers get antsy and want to get up and wander around, but Benjamin just sits and watches the game. He loves football (well, most sports) and enjoys everything that is going on around him- the crowds, the cheerleaders, the football players, the flags, the balloons, everything! It's fun to watch him.

Benjamin with Uncle Rob and Aunt Dianne-
And in case you care- it was a very close game today. We were actually down at one point, but we won 42 to 35 though so it's all good! I enjoy the close games a lot more anyway, they are so much more interesting. Jonathan disagrees though. He likes it when BYU is winning by a million points because it helps their ratings.

4th Folder, 4th Picture

I was tagged again- this time I had to post the 4th picture in the 4th folder. This was tricky because I have lots of subfolders, so I did the 4th folder, the 4th subfolder, and then the 4th picture. This is what I got:

This was back in April 2007 when Benjamin was just 3 months old! What a cutie! And I was way skinnier then than I am now :(

Now when I look at Daniel at 2 months old, I can see more of a resemblance between these 2 boys- they are most definitely brothers!

I tag anyone who wants to do this! I'd love to see what random pictures you have!

Halloween Party

We had another Halloween party last night at our Church. It started with Trunk-or-Treating and then went inside for food and games and a costume contest. Here are the adorable pictures of Benjamin and Daniel in their costumes-
Check out the bib Daniel is wearing- it has his name on it! Below the pumpkin it says 1st Halloween- too cute! That was a gift from Aunt Lois and Uncle Ed who live in Hong Kong. Daniel got one for each of the holidays and they are adorable. Thanks again Auntie Lois and Uncle Ed!

Trunk-or-Treat:
This is us with Jordan and Vilja- they were dressed as a hobbit and elf princess from The Lord of the Rings.

We didn't get many pictures once we were inside, I guess we were too busy playing games and eating yummy food!Ok, so I said in my last post that I wouldn't color my hair again. This time I didn't- I went and bought a cheap wig at Walmart and a couple cans of spray paint and the wig turned out nicely! In fact, I think it looked better than when I did my own hair- much more like Glenn Close in the 101 Dalmations movie (the one that isn't animated). The only downside was that I could smell that spray paint smell all night. But oh well, it was worth not cleaning the bathroom and washing my hair fifty gazillion times!

Birthday/Halloween Party- Disney Style

Every year our sister in law does a birthday party that is a murder mystery type thing. If you've been reading my blog for at least a year you may remember last years' party was a Clue themed experience. This year the theme was Disney Villians. Jonathan was Captain Hook and I dressed up as Cruella DeVil.
The party was a lot of fun. We had a ton of different villians from the classic Disney movies. Everyone's costumes looked awesome. The whole idea of the party was that our beloved sidekicks were kidnapped and all the villians joined together to meet and find out who was responsible. We were given different clues about other guests at different points during the evening and were instructed to question/accuse them sometime during the night.

Here we are with Kronk and Izma (Tyler and Cassidee)

It turned out that the Evil Queen from Snow White had accidently broken her mirror and since she has absolutely no power without her mirror she decided to kidnap all of our sidekicks so we would be powerless as well. That Evil Queen really is evil :)
And it turned out that it took 3 shampoos to get all the hair color out of my hair. And then I had to clean the bathtub, shower, and sink. I decided not to do that to my hair again. Mostly because of the mess, but also because it ruined my hair and I needed to deep condition it and I'm scheduled for a hair cut this week.

ANYWAY.
A fun picture of Kronk...

Happy Day!

Benjamin had a really great day today. We've been struggling with his tantrums and overall grumpiness for awhile now. Last week was the worst week ever. Granted, we were soooo busy and he spent hours running errands around town with me every day, but even when we were home he was a royal pain in the butt. I think this gym class we started Benjamin in this week has really helped. Not only does he get one on one time with me twice a week, but he's getting the opportunity to be active and burn a lot of energy. His naps today and Tuesday were the longest he's had in months- 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I'll try and get pictures of Benjamin at his gym class sometime next week.

Not only was Benjamin in a WONDERFUL mood today, but I also paid $2.99 a gallon for gas today- at a Chevron, no less! The total to fill up my car was $50.01, about $20 less than it was just a few months ago.

I was also quite the homemaker today. I made 2 lasagnas during naptime (one for us and one to give to someone who needs help with meals right now) and Benjamin and I made sugar cookies with some cousins this afternoon. I managed to clean the kitchen too- which was in desperate need of attention after my lasagna-making session. I even got the fridge cleaned out.

I love good days!

Zoo Day

Last Thursday we went to the zoo with a couple of Benjamin's aunts and cousins. We had a good time and got some fun pictures of the animals. We were only there for about an hour and a half. Benjamin still had a low grade fever and spent most of the time in his cousin's stroller looking bored.

This is all the cousins and Aunt Dianne- Savannah, Aurora, Matthew, and Benjamin. Daniel and John were asleep in the strollers. John is only 11 days older than Daniel and his sister Aurora is 2 months older than Benjamin. Matthew is 5 and Savannah is 3.

Catching Up Again

Last week was one crazy week. I spent nearly every day running around town doing errands of different natures. By the end of the week Benjamin was done being in the car and dragged around town. And the fact that he had a low grade fever for a few days didn't help. Right now he's been napping for over 2 hours and I'm expecting him to wake up any minute. So I'll be getting as much blogging done as I can and then I'll have to finish catching up later.

Here are quite a few cute pictures we've been able to take since getting our new camera last week.

And Benjamin is awake so I'll have to add a few more posts another time... we've got great pictures from a Halloween party and the zoo last week!

*Tagged* Photo Op

Candie tagged me a couple weeks ago and I'm just now getting to it...

In order to complete this tag, you have to search the answers on an image search engine and then post a picture from the first page of results with the answer. It’s lots of fun!
My Favorite Vacation: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This was the first real vacation Jonathan and I took together and we were lucky enough to go with my family! We got to take a glass bottom boat ride to this famouse arch.
My Favorite Color: Purple.

My Current Age: 26My Favorite Treat: This changes all the time, but right now I'm going to have to say Milk Shakes!

My Favorite Food: I love fajitas too! Anytime we go to a restaurant that has them I always order them. My Favorite Animal: This is hard... but I think I'm going to go with a Pug. My mom has converted me... Seriously, though- how can you not love this face?
The Place I Want to Travel The Most: The Grand Canyon. I've always wanted to see it and I haven't had the chance yet.

The Place I Grew Up: La Crescenta, Ca is where I lived from 5th grade until college so it's considered "home."
The Place I Live Now: Provo, Utah. But hopefully for not much longer :)

Last Name: Gibson

Middle Name: Marie

This is a picture of Marie Antoinette- it was the best option :)

First Name: Tabitha

Hmm... I recommend not doing an image search for Tabitha- there aparently are a lot of "adult entertainment" stars named Tabitha. This, however, is Countess Tabitha. I'm liking that name...

Something I Used to Love: Dare I say this?! The Twilight series. I think I'm just over it now. BUT- It still think it's a great series to read and I'd still recommend it to other people and I am still interested in seeing the movie. So don't kill me, ok?

***So now I tag.... Rebecca, Christa, Amor, and Jessica (so you'll have something to do while waiting to have your baby)... have fun!***

Baking With Mom

This past Saturday Benjamin helped me for the first time baking brownies for dad to enjoy after the Priesthood session of Conference. He really enjoyed pouring the water and oil and eggs (I obviously used a boxed mix this time) into the bowl and stirring it together. And he looked so cute in his big apron.Unfortunately, these are the last pictures I was able to take before I dropped our camera about 2 seconds after I took the last picture. It was on and the lens was open when it hit the floor and now the lens won't close. $80 to fix it? No thanks- we bought a new one online (saving $30 off the retail price and getting a free case and 2GB memory card and I didn't have to pay a shipping fee). Hopefully we'll have it by Monday because we have a playdate at the Zoo next week.

Last night Benjamin helped me make cookies and he had a ton of fun stirring the flour and sugar and using the hand mixer. His favorite part was licking the beaters though- I did manage to get a few pictures of this with my cell phone. They're not the greatest picture quality, but it's better than nothing

And just for kicks here's a picture of cute little guy Daniel. We can't believe how big he's getting. He is already as big as Benjamin was at 3 months old and he's not even 2 months yet.
